Terms of service
Agreement
These Terms govern access to and use of heap.page, including public pages, accounts, paid memberships, alerts, and related services. By using the service after these Terms become effective, you agree to them and to the Privacy notice incorporated by reference.
If you use the service for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and the words you and your include that organization. If you do not agree, do not use account or paid features.
The service
heap.page provides curated references, structured evidence records, source links, and original editorial analysis. Content may distinguish official information, reported facts, rumors, anonymous claims, fan research, disputes, corrections, and debunks.
The service is for general informational purposes. It is not professional, legal, financial, investment, medical, or safety advice, and it does not guarantee that a third-party source will remain available, accurate, secure, or suitable for a particular decision.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter this agreement and meet any minimum age required where you live. You must provide accurate account information and keep credentials, sessions, and recovery methods secure.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless caused by heap.page. Notify support@heap.page promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. Accounts and memberships are personal unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.
Membership
A membership provides access to member features identified on the pricing and checkout pages, including member analysis and revision history where available. Public content remains available without a membership, subject to service changes permitted by these Terms.
Membership access is determined by the authenticated account and the verified subscription record. You may not share credentials, transfer access, bypass an access control, or enable another person to use member material without permission.
Pricing and renewal
The standard membership price is US$5 per month or US$50 per year, unless a different price is clearly displayed and accepted at checkout. Applicable taxes may be added based on the information supplied to the payment provider.
A subscription renews automatically for the selected monthly or annual interval until canceled. Stripe processes payment information. By purchasing, you authorize recurring charges for the price and taxes shown at checkout until cancellation takes effect.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel automatic renewal at any time through the available account or billing controls. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period unless the checkout terms or applicable law require a different result.
Fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated at checkout. For an incorrect or duplicate charge, contact support@heap.page promptly with the account email and transaction reference, but do not send full payment-card details.
Acceptable use
You may not use the service to violate law; distribute malware; gain unauthorized access; interfere with availability; evade security, rate, or access controls; expose another person's private information; impersonate another person; or facilitate fraud, harassment, or abuse.
You may not systematically extract, mirror, resell, or republish a substantial portion of heap.page or member material, use automated access that degrades the service, or submit stolen, unlawfully disclosed, or infringing source material.
Intellectual property
heap.page and its licensors retain their rights in the service, original content, software, design, and compilations. Subject to these Terms, heap.page grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for lawful personal or internal purposes.
Third-party sources retain their own rights and terms. A link, citation, membership, or factual description does not grant a license to copy a linked work. Copyright notices and procedures are stated on the Copyright page.
Feedback and communications
If you voluntarily provide feedback about heap.page, you grant heap.page a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback without restriction or compensation, without identifying you publicly unless you agree.
Service notices may be sent electronically to the email associated with an account or displayed through the service. You are responsible for keeping the account contact information current.
Third-party services
The service links to and depends on third-party sites and providers. heap.page does not control linked content, availability, security, policies, or transactions and is not responsible for a third party's independent acts or omissions.
Your use of a third-party site or service may be governed by separate terms. A source's inclusion in a Heap records its editorial relevance and does not constitute sponsorship, endorsement, or a guarantee.
Changes to the service
heap.page may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue content or features, including a particular Heap, source, alert, or member feature. Where reasonably practicable, material changes affecting a paid membership will be communicated in advance.
Changes do not remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived. If a paid service is permanently discontinued, heap.page will provide any remedy required by applicable law and the effective purchase terms.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is and as available. heap.page disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
heap.page does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, complete or current content, or that every rumor, report, source, link, or classification will be accurate. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, heap.page and its operators, affiliates, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunity arising from the service.
The total liability for claims arising from the service will not exceed the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid to heap.page during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Applicable law may provide non-waivable rights or prohibit some limitations.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless heap.page and its operators, affiliates, and providers from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person's rights.
heap.page will provide reasonable notice of a covered claim and may control its defense and settlement. You may not settle a claim in a way that admits liability or imposes obligations on heap.page without written consent.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may cancel a membership as described above. heap.page may restrict or terminate access for a material or repeated violation, unlawful conduct, security risk, nonpayment, or conduct that threatens the service or another person.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning ownership, payment obligations already incurred, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, disputes, and interpretation.
Governing law and disputes
The effective version of these Terms will identify the verified service operator, governing law, forum, and any required consumer dispute rights after legal review. This draft does not select a jurisdiction or require arbitration.
Nothing in these Terms waives a protection or remedy that applicable law does not permit a consumer to waive. Before an effective version is published, questions may be sent to legal@heap.page.
General
If a provision is unenforceable, it will be modified only to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without written consent; heap.page may assign them in connection with a reorganization or transfer of the service.
The effective Terms, any purchase terms accepted at checkout, and policies expressly incorporated into them will form the agreement concerning the service. Section headings are for convenience and do not limit interpretation.
Updates and contact
heap.page may update these Terms. A new version will state its date, and material changes will receive additional notice where required. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance only to the extent allowed by law.
Questions may be sent to legal@heap.page. These Terms are a draft and do not form an agreement until an effective version identifies its effective date and the service operator.
