What it does
Shor helps companies contract with, hire and pay international team members. It combines contractor agreements and payouts with employee payroll and employer-of-record services, with the applicable workflow determined by the worker's country and employment arrangement.
- Create contractor agreements for the work being commissioned. The contract workflow supports arrangements such as fixed compensation, hourly work and milestones. Templates, worker information and electronic signatures keep the engagement in a recorded process rather than relying on disconnected email approvals and ad hoc payment instructions.
- Collect onboarding and tax information. Contractor setup includes relevant forms such as W-9 or W-8 variants for the supported situation. Keeping these documents with the contract helps finance prepare payments, while the company still needs to confirm classification and country-specific requirements for the actual working relationship.
- Fund and execute international payouts. Employers can prefund supported transfers through routes such as ACH or wire, then pay workers in supported local currencies. Currency conversion and fees are part of the flow, so finance can compare the amount funded with the amount the recipient receives.
- Hire employees through an employer of record. In supported countries, the EOR arrangement provides a local employment path for companies without their own entity. Employment documents, payroll and local obligations are handled under that arrangement, with salaries, benefits and statutory costs separate from the service fee.
- Run payroll for an existing entity. Shor also describes payroll support when a company already has its own local employing entity. Gross-to-net calculations, withholding and filings depend on the jurisdiction and engagement, making it useful to establish who owns each compliance task before moving the payroll cycle.
- Follow costs and payment progress in one workflow. The employer interface brings contracts, transfers and payroll information together so a team can review upcoming obligations and payment status. Dedicated support is available to discuss implementation and issues, with the agreed country coverage and service scope governing the engagement.
Check before you buyCountry coverage differs between contractor payments, entity payroll and EOR. Verify FX charges, funding deadlines, deposits, benefits, termination obligations and the written fee schedule; the official page currently shows inconsistent entity-payroll prices.
